Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night was announced 2 months ago, with the first debut trailer releasing a month after that. Now it looks like the wait is finally over as Konami has just released Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night on the iPhone.
Hardcore Castlevania fans might be disappointed to hear Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night isn’t your typical Castlevania game. Instead of it being a side-scrolling platformer, the game is a falling block puzzle game, similar to Capcom’s cult classic, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night, you play as Alucard, son of Dracula, as he squares off against various characters from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Konami promises over 20 hours of gameplay in the Story Mode alone, which is a hefty amount of gameplay when you consider the game is just a falling block puzzle game.
Social media junkies should be happy to hear the game supports the ability to share achievements you earn while playing the game on Facebook, which I’m sure will thrill the majority who only live for Farmville updates. The game also allows you to play music straight from your music library while you play. Nothing makes a falling block puzzle game based on Castlevania more fun like the tunes of Weird Al Yankovic, that’s what I always say.
