Verizon pushing Motorola Droid X ads into your inbox

Even though the Motorola Droid X is still seemingly sold out, that’s certainly not stopping Verizon from trying to push you to buy one. Some people are reporting that Verizon has sent them emails pushing the new handset, and allowing early upgrades.

Here’s the deal. Verizon wants you to buy one of the few sold out devices it carries, and is even allowing some unexpected upgrades to sweeten the pot. According to a user who had bought the original Motorola Droid back in November, they were eligible to upgrade to the X even though it hadn’t even been a full year since their last upgrade. Even though my Primary device at the moment is the T-Mobile Vibrant, there’s just something that makes the X more appealing. The Vibrant (T-Mobile variant of the Galaxy S) may have the Super AMOLED display, but I’m still siding with the Droid X.

According to a Blackberry user, the video below was sent to them through email. Of course Verizon wants people to buy their new latest and greatest handset, but I’d much rather see unrelenting TV ads as the carrier has done previously, and not an assault on my email inbox. Who knows what Verizon will do next, but let’s hope it’s a little more interesting than this. Even if you’re not technically eligible for an upgrade, I’m sure if you try hard enough to upgrade to the Droid X, you may just come out successful.

If you’re more in the market for a QWERTY keyboard-toting smartphone, I’d suggest you to ignore Verizon’s proposal, and wait for the Droid 2 to get all official with Big Red. We’re looking at a probably launch window sometime next month. Both the X and the D2 will get Android 2.2 (Froyo), so there’s little give and take when picking from one of the newest Android devices for Verizon.

So what’s your pick? Droid X, or waiting for the Droid 2?
