The Poynt location-based search app for iPhone now has a new category of search that’s already available on Android and BlackBerry versions: gas prices. You can sort results by proximity or price, and launch right into Maps for turn-by-turn directions. The update also includes iOS 4 optimizations, and some fresh integration with the native calendar, so you can be reminded of movie times or dinner reservations. You can also now add theatres to favourites for quick access later on.
Of course, all of the other stuff is still there, including augmented reality, calling search results just by bringing the phone to your ear, and white pages, yellow pages, restaurant, and movie search. Everything’s really well-integrated with the native apps, and generally includes a lot of expanded functions, like reverse phone lookup, and movie trailers.
