Two mid-range handsets are now available in the UK – Nokia C6 via Vodafone and HTC Wildfire via Three. Both phones fit in the “ideal first smartphone bought” category, though the C6 is somewhat more powerful.
Vodafone is offering the Nokia C6 for free on a 24-month contract starting at £20/month. As you may know, the C6 comes with a solid side-sliding QWERTY keyboard which is much better than the one N97 has. Moreover, there’s the HSPA and WiFi connectivity support, nHD touchscreen, “usual for Nokia phones” great camera, memory card slot and so on.
As for the HTC Wildfire, you probably already know it’s an entry-level all-touchscreen Android smartphone. What’s interesting about Three’s version is that it comes in red, making it a perfect gift for ladies. The carrier is giving away the device on a £19/month plans that apparently also include a Spotify Premium subscription which is a nice add-on…
