Got a contract with Sprint, a corporate discount, and more than two lines? Then read on as you are reportedly eligible to cancel your Sprint account without a termination fee. On August 27th of this year, Sprint made a material change to plans that are receiving a corporate discount and have more than 2 lines. An email sent to the explainthefee blog details the change:

Effective August 27, 2010, Sprint will no longer apply the Nationwide Volume Pricing (NVP) discount to the Monthly Recurring Charge for lines on a shared service plan beyond the first two lines of service. Sprint provided written notice to its customers in advance of the discount policy change in July and August 2010 via invoice message. Because of this change, our customers are eligible to terminate the service on their account without penalty through September 27, 2010.

If you have three or more lines on your plan and a corporate discount, then you should pick up your phone and give Sprint a call. A material change like this may give you a free pass to remove the contract on your plan without paying a termination fee. As always, your mileage may vary and you may have to call a few times to get a Sprint customer service rep to understand the situation and work with you.

Don’t delay as these changes went into effect on August 27,2010 and you have a full billing cycle to respond. If you wait past 30 days without calling, complaining, or canceling, then Sprint assumes you accept the new terms and your window of opportunity is gone. If you try to cancel, let us know the outcome in the comments. Best of luck!
