BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 on Sale at Mobilicity

RIM’s entry-level BlackBerry, the Curve 3G 9300, is now on sale at Canadian carrier Mobilicity for $299.99 off contract. This may seem like a more palatable option for those that can’t afford the Nexus One that was announced recently on the same carrier for $549.99. BlackBerry Internet Service data add-ons start at $20, and $35 for unlimited. If you’re looking for something a little higher-end in a BlackBerry, Mobilicity launched its network with the Bold 9700 in its roster.

The Curve 3G 9300 is pretty bare-bones, but still offers all of the core e-maily goodness that BlackBerry is known for. The spec-line includes a QVGA display, fixed-focus 2 megapixel camera (no flash), 256 MB of RAM, 624 MHz processor, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, top-mounted media controls, microSD memory card and microUSB slot. Of course, Mobilicity’s primary coverage is only available in Toronto these days, but they have plans to expand to Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton. Quebec’s nowhere in that roadmap probably because Videotron has a province-wide lock-down on the same AWS bands that Mobilicty uses.

If you’re in Toronto and looking for a cheap BlackBerry minus the contract, you can find the Curve 3G chilling out in the Mobilicity online store, or take a look at our review.
