A company called LinguaSys launched a new app called TransGen Mobile, providing the first multilingual private mobile chat rooms for Android. Available through the Android Market, the new application can scale to over 500 users per chat room, allowing participants to converse in different languages in a single room. Moreover, there’s the support for private persistent chat rooms, permission-based and moderated chat, as well as personal translation option without chat. Users get to pick a Machine Translation engine they fancy the most.

For the enterprise users, there’s the self-hosted version with moderated chats and secure in-house-moderated, translated chat using multiple devices including Android phones, iPhones and desktop chat clients.

Finally, in its press release, LinguaSys mentions some future plans, hinting us the text-to-speech functionality will be rolled out in the upcoming releases of TransGen Mobile. In the meantime, you can grab the existing version from the Android Market – simply search for “transgen” and take it from there.
