LG Optimus One is now available in India. The mid-range Android candybar could be yours for 13,500 INR, which is about $300. As you may know from our previous posts on LG’s all-touchscreen smartphone, that money buys you an Android-powered device with a 3.2-inch HVGA touchscreen, 3G and WiFi connectivity, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, 3.5mm headset jack, 600MHz processor, 170MB of internal memory that’s further expandable with microSD cards. What’s interesting about Indian version is that it will come with Android 2.2 Froyo pre-loaded.
In a nutshell, it’s the perfect first Android smartphone and if some carrier in India picks it up and offers it subsidized, I can easily see it selling like hot cupcakes.
Thus far, LG managed to move more than 1 million Optimus One units around the world and with the phone hitting the world’s second largest mobile market, I’ve no doubts that number will double in no time.
In addition to India, LG’s baby is also available in Europe and the U.S.
