60 MINUTES, which in case you don’t know is America’s number one news program, is now available on the iPad. According to the press release, this is the first time a primetime news magazine has its own stand-alone application for the hand-held device.
As one would expect, the 60 MINUTES iPad app delivers high-quality video and text versions of the program content — including weekly previews, segments, web extras and clips. Moreover, content from the online series 60MinutesOvertime.com is also included in the mix, giving users a behind-the-scenes look at the production of 60 MINUTES stories.
Plus, archival segments related to the week’s headlines can also be accessed from the application, searched or browsed by categories such as Newsmakers, Politics, Health & Science, Business, Sports and Entertainment.
Commenting on the new app launch, 60 MINUTES’ Executive Producer Jeff Fager said: “It is an exciting new way to watch our stories. I love everything about it-the way the app looks, the way the stories play, and the fact that viewers can watch them anytime they want.”
