Wyse Technology, the company behind the PocketCloud mobile app/service we talked about in the past, updated its flagship app which is now in version 1.1.
There are several important changes PocketCloud 1.1 brings, including:
- Tablet support – such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the upcoming Cisco Cius
- Support for advanced Microsoft NLA (Network Level Authentication) security
- Various performance improvements
In addition, Wyse also announced that its mobile app for iOS and Android has been downloaded by more than 250,000 users.
Wyse remains the free application, but it’s also available in the “Pro” packaging which costs $14.99 and is made for “those who want even more out of their mobile cloud computing experience.” The Pro version features everything its free counterpart has plus support for secure tunneling for VNC, advanced multi-touch gestures with pinch to zoom, mentioned NLA security and VMWare view.
Commenting on the new app release, Wyse’s Daniel Barreto said: “Reaching 250,000 PocketCloud users is the first step in bringing our technology to all smartphones and tablets. We listened to what consumers want in an app, and added the high performance and advanced security demanded by our business customers – all while keeping features our free users expect.”
