CBS News launched the SUNDAY MORNING app for the iPhone and iPod Touch users. Available as a free download, the new application brings the #1 Sunday morning news program to the palm of your hand, featuring full video segments and clips about current events and stories about fine art, music, nature, sports, science and Americana. In addition, there are popular “postcards” from destinations around the world, videos of “tranquil nature scenes” and full image galleries.
All of the popular correspondents and Sunday Morning regulars are there, including Martha Teichner, Rita Braver, Bill Geist, Tracy Smith, Mo Rocca, Serena Altschul and Russ Mitchell. Video on the app is delivered both over WiFi and 3G.
And if you didn’t know, SUNDAY MORNING SHOW debuted on January 28, 1979 and has ever since turned into an American weekend tradition.
Commenting on the app launch, SUNDAY MORNING Executive Producer Rand Morrison said: “SUNDAY MORNING has differentiated itself by focusing on topics not usually covered in network news, including architecture, painting, opera, classical, and popular music. The launch of the new app makes this unique program and its extended content available to its loyal viewers anytime, anywhere.”
