Although it’s kind of hard to tell, this is apparently the HTC Desire HD, and it’s heading to Telus sometime in January/February next year according to tipsters. It’s good to see those wishy-washy rumours last month gaining some more concrete proof. No mention of pricing, but I wouldn’t expect it to be more than $200 on a three-year contract.
Just to recap, the HTC Desire HD has a 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1 GHz processor, 786 MB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and runs Android 2.2 with HTC’s great Sense user interface improvements, plus the usual connectivity like 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and GPS.
If you’re going with Telus and need a new Android phone sooner than later, the original Desire is still their top-end Android device, available for free on a three-year contract. It’s too bad Telus couldn’t get the Desire HD out the door in time for the holidays, especially since the competition will have plenty of boxing week sales to rope shoppers into three-year contracts before they have a chance to see it.
