HTC HD7 officially launched in India via Bharti Airtel

HTC has teamed-up with Bharti Airtel to launch the HTC HD7 in India. Interested folks can grab the device from the country’s largest mobile operator and HTC resellers for Rs. 29,990 which is about $668. That money buys you an excellent Windows Phone 7 device along with 2GB of data per month for 6 months for an additional Rs. 300 (a true bargain for mobile data plans).

The good thing is that the phone is not locked to Airtel, allowing users to switch networks if they fancy so.

And if you don’t like or need official channels, mobile retailer Univercell has an even better offering, asking Rs. 27,885 for the phone. Unfortunately, no cheap data plans are included here…

Commenting on the launch, HTC India’s Ajay Sharma said: “Windows Phone 7 is an entirely fresh mobile experience, on which HTC is excited to be going big. We see tremendous customer opportunities with the integration of Microsoft’s most popular services. The value Microsoft is bringing to mobile customers around the world sets a new benchmark for the industry and HTC is proud to be the first in bringing in the brand new Windows Phone 7 experience to India in partnership with Bharti Airtel.”
