Notable events at CES 2011 (all times PST)
It’s going to be a long, long week in Las Vegas but we’ll be busting our humps to give you the best coverage from the Super Bowl of the tech world. The action starts tomorrow, as we’ll be hitting the Asus press conference around 2 p.m.
Wednesday should be a big day, as we’ll be at the LG press conference (8 a.m.) where we expect to see its Android Honeycomb tablet as well as some more details about the Optimus 2X. AT&T is also holding its developer summit keynote (9 a.m.) and the carrier should officially introduce the Motorola Olympus.
Chipmakers Intel (10 a.m.) and NVIDIA (11 a.m.) will also have events that day to show off the future of mobile processors Samsung will likely show off some new goodies at its press event (2 p.m.). Sony’s late afternoon event (4:30 p.m.) could also show off some cool mobile devices, although we think it’s too early to see the PlayStation Phone. Later that night (6:30 p.m.), Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer will try and produce a better showing at a keynote than he did during last year’s show. With Windows Phone 7 finally launched and looking pretty sexy, we may finally hear Microsoft’s real tablet strategy.
Thursday is going to be a monster day for the mobile world, as Verizon’s CEO Ivan Seidenberg will kick off the morning keynote (8:30 a.m.) and this would be an amazing place to introduce the Motorola Android Honeycomb tablet. T-Mobile will likely outlines its HSPA+42 plans in the morning (10:30 a.m.) and Verizon will unveil its Android 4G LTE devices around lunch time (12 noon). We’ll definitely be live-blogging these announcements, so you won’t want to miss it.
If that weren’t enough, Friday’s morning keynote (11 a.m.) will have Ford’s CEO Alan Mulally talking more about the company’s plans to integrate smartphones to your car. I would love to say that we’ll be at the craps table over the weekend but we have meetings lined up with the likes of Microsoft, ViewSonic, Research In Motion, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and more, so you can expect news, reviews and videos nearly around the clock for the next week. It’s going to be a blast!
Here’s a quick cheat sheet of events, we’ll likely have live blogs of most of these (barring equipment failure or extreme fatigue, that is):
