It is said that Leonardo da Vinci was one of the biggest genius of his time. Heck even today people marvel on his work so we’re not surprised to find not one but few apps dedicated to the Renaissance genius in Apple’s AppStore.

Today we present you with one such app that is made to give the user an insight into Leonardo’s creative process, “revealing the secrets of this multi-talented man.” The application is made to take you on a virtual tour of some of the rooms in Château du Clos Lucé, such as Leonardo’s bedroom and the model room. The tour is brought alive by lots of photos of his inventions along with explanations of how they work.

Perhaps the most important part of the application is the video 3D animation gallery which helps anyone understand the civil and military engineer Leonardo da Vinci. The films are shown on six flat screens in the rooms and include the dream of flight (the aeroplane, helicopter and parachute), the tank, the swing bridge, the paddle boat and the pound lock, the Archimedes screw and the automobile. One of the animations focuses particularly on the principles of mechanics, something that Leonardo da Vinci was always very curious about.

Of course, you can also learn about the famous château, grounds and garden through lots of videos, 360° panoramas, photos, geolocation positioning, animations and more.
