We all know that the Dell Streak 7 will be landing on T-Mobile soon but we haven’t heard the official release date or price. Well, thanks to that wonderful Internet, we may have both of those pegged.
The folks over at StreakSmart noticed some fine print on the T-Mobile Dell Streak 7 website. This tiny print suggests that the Android-powered tablet can be yours for three monthly payments of $82.50 and a down payment of $82.50, for a total of $330.
This T-Mobile Dell Streak 7 pricing is obviously a part of the carrier’s Equipment Installment plan, which enables consumers to spread out the cost of the hardware over multiple months. The fourth-largest carrier hasn’t really said anything about the cost other than it will be “amazingly priced.”
Is the T-Mobile Dell Streak 7 “amazingly priced” at $330 with a new, two year contract? I’d say “amazingly” is a tad bit too much praise but that’s still a pretty darn good price for what you’re getting. The 7-inch tablet will have a dual-core Tegra 2 1 GHz processor. On the back there’s a 5 megapixel camera, plus a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video chatting over Qik. It also includes HSPA+, Wi-Fi, and GPS.
So when can we expect this tablet to hit the market? Other reports suggest that it could launch as soon as Feb. 2, so we probably won’t have to wait too long to see if this is the correct pricing.
This tablet is going to face some stiff competition, so maybe its main advantage will be pricing. The T-Mobile Dell Streak 7 should be competing with the Motorola Xoom, BlackBerry PlayBook, webOS tablet, the next generation of Galaxy Tab and more. [Update]
Dell reached out to us by way of their PR agency with an update to the allegedly leaked pricing info. According to the email, “the Dell Streak 7 pricing information that appears on T-Mobile’s web site is the result of a technical error and is incorrect… I wanted to make sure you had accurate information and apologize for this error and inconvenience.”
From what we’re told, the”Streak 7 will be available from T-Mobile in the coming weeks.”
