iGO’s latest navigation app is all about Costa Rica. However, it’s not a regular GPS navigation application, since addresses in Costa Rica do not follow a systematic road naming and house numbering system. Rather, iGO uses the POI Guidance feature that refers to over 34,000 Points of Interest (POIs) in 43 categories such as churches, hospitals, hotels and other notable places along the route and around the destination.
This way you search for destination using some Point of Interest that’s combined with the “Find on Map” search. Once a POI is found, the map opens from where you can tap on the screen to select the final destination.
The new iGO My way Costa Rica edition features English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian as user interface languages, making it ideal both for the country residents and holiday-makers.
iGO My way for iPhone versions have been available on App Store since August 2009 and bring a “trendy and entertaining navigation solution” to iPhone users, offering features such as navigation to iPhone contacts, QWERTY keyboard layout, calling POIs and controlling music playback.
