Samsung Vibrant now FREE from T-Mobile

Just as they had done with the G2, the Samsung Vibrant is now available for free on a new two-year contract on T-Mobile. With the exception of the Galaxy Tab, all Android devices offered by T-Mobile are now under $100, but for the time being the Samsung Vibrant is the deal of the day.

Now that the Vibrant has officially been given a taste of Android 2.2 Froyo, the device may be a bit more appealing than it once was. We know that the Galaxy S 4G will be hitting shelves next month with HSPA+ 4G support for 21Mbps data speeds, but the Vibrant can still reach 7.2Mbps down. That may be a deal breaker to some folks, but free is free, and 7.2Mbps is still quite fast. Then again, it may be painful to watch the T-Mobile 4G TV ads when you know your handset will never be able to utilize Magenta’s super fast network.

If you’ve been holding off on getting a T-Mobile smartphone, (you should have grabbed the G2 for free when you could) the Samsung Vibrant may be just the device that will push you to take the leap. With a spacious and stunning Super AMOLED display, this phone definitely still has what it takes to take on the big dogs. For how much longer is debatable, but there’s a certain ring to the word “free”, and we suggest you act on impulses if you’re looking into purchasing this handset.

Why Magenta is offering the Cliq XT at a higher price than the MyTouch Slide is a whole other story.
