Samsung to launch 42-45 phone models in India this year

India is a super-fast growing economy and pretty much every global company has a large presence in the country. Major handset makers are definitely not exceptions with Nokia really pushing hard for the hearts and minds of the Indian mobile user.

Samsung doesn’t want to miss the rising tide as well, and is preparing to launch quite a few new phones in the country during 2011. That “quite a few” actually means “at least 42-45 models,” according to the company’s executive Ruchika Batra. Best of all, the majority of these phones will be smartphones and touchscreen devices!

We don’t know exactly which handsets the Korean giant will unveil in the second most-populous country in the world, but we do see what they’re launching in the West. I’m confident some if not all of those devices will find their way to the Indian market in no time at all.

We’ll be definitely watching closely what Samsung and its competitors are doing to increase their global market share and keep you guys and gals in the loop. Stay tuned…
