Some lucky bloggers got their hands on a pre-release version of Twitter for Android 2.0. As you can see, the UI has had a bit of an overhaul since the last update, and you can change the notification light for trackball under options; there might be a few other minute changes you can spot in the video walk-through below. It’s unclear if there will finally be a reply all option, but it wouldn’t be an unreasonable expectation.
Awhile back Twitter had acquired a third-party developer that made Tweetie, and turned their app into an officially-branded client for the iPhone, while RIM went ahead and made the app for BlackBerry. There are still third-party clients abound available for Android, like HootSuite, TweetDeck, and Seesmic, but personally, I tend to feel better with something that has the official seal of approval.
Whenever this update goes live, you’ll be able to find it here in the Market.
