Evernote has once again updated its Android client to make it even more powerful. Version 2.6 packs several new features, including:
- Snippet View – which is designed to give you the most useful information about your note in the smallest amount of space. If a note contains an image, then you’ll see the note title, some text and a thumbnail. If the note is text-only, Evernote will display as much of the text as possible. It’s all meant to give you maximum at-a-glance information. Other views remain on place and you can switch between them from the view options menu.
- Notebook Stacks – thanks to which you can see Stacks made on your computer, whether it’s a PC or Mac. In case you don’t know, Notebook Stacks is a feature which lets you visually group notebooks.
- Ability to edit styled notes, whether it’s a text, webclip, snapshot or audio note. No longer will you see that pesky “Append or Copy” popup. You should know, however, that you can only edit existing notes and not create new ones from the scratch. Evernote said they are working on that feature too, but at the moment it’s still not available.
In addition, this release of Evernote for Android also rocks improved sync performance (around 6 times faster), ability to edit Saved Searches, improved image scaling, faster note loading and application performance, as well as many additional bug fixes…
