Last time we talked about mobile ticketing solution provider Masabi, they managed to secure $2 million in funding from m8 Capital. Now the company announced that its mobile rail ticket purchase application for thetrainline.com supports pretty much any mobile phone out there, whether it’s a smartphone or feature phone.
The mentioned app allows users to search train times and purchase tickets using a credit or debit card, and then pick-up their tickets at the station. Obviously that’s an easier way than to wait in a queue to buy tickets. The next step in the app development will make the process even better by displaying tickets as secure barcodes on the phone’s screen when rail operators start supporting this feature in the coming months.
