Finally we have the official press release from SK Telecom in which it says the iPhone 4 will start selling on March 16th, with pre-orders beginning on March 9th through “online and offline retail stores.”
The rumor on the street is that the Korean largest operator may get to carry the CDMA version of the device, which is at the moment is available only through Verizon Wireless. That, however, may not be the case since SKT operates an HSPA overlay similar to some carriers in Canada and Mexico.
Full pricing and availability details for iPhone 4 will be “available soon,” leaving the media tons of room to speculate. I’m not going there this time; we’ll let you know when we get additional information.
SK Telecom’s Co-CEO So Jin-Woo likes the iPhone 4 and (most likely) even more the fact that KT won’t be the only iCarrier in the country any more. He said: “SK Telecom is proud to offer iPhone 4 on the nation’s top network. Our customers will benefit from flexible tariff plans tailored to their unique usage needs along with a high level of customer care.”
