HipLogic unveiled a new Sports Module for its homescreen replacement app *Spark for Android to provide sports lovers with a quick way to access scores and news from major sporting events, as well as follow their top teams.

The new Sports Module comes with comprehensive sports score coverage with easy access to live games. In the US, it connects to NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NCAA (Basketball and Football) leagues. For international users, the upcoming featured sports will include European football (soccer) and cricket.

Feature wise, the module rocks Personalized Feeds (so you follow only the teams and games you care about), Sports News (provided by CBS) and Sports Social capability (allows sharing and commenting on the status of a game in progress via Facebook, Twitter and SMS).

As a reminder, *Spark pushes live information to Android smartphone users’ homescreens, featuring weather, news, entertainment, daily deals and now breaking sports news through an easy to use interface. Moreover, it also integrates key phone functions like email, calendar, messaging and favorite apps. *Spark is available as a free download from the Android Market (link below).
