The cool thing about SXSW 2011 is getting to see some cool, new apps in action and we got some hands-on time with the Addieu iPhone app, a connector for all of your online personas.
In a way, the Addieu iPhone app is like Hashable because it’s trying to get rid of the business card. This app is different though because it’s not trying to become your new contact list in the cloud but it’s trying to make it easier for you to get connected with others while combining your various social services.
Some of the features include:
Easily connect on Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare
+ Automatically adds new people to your Contacts app
+ Uses your Foursquare check-ins and shouts to remember where you’ve met somebody.
+ Seamlessly add people to Twitter lists, including creating new ones on the fly.
+ No username and password.
+ Your address book entry is your login.
+ Browse your connection history.
+ Email and text a contact right from Addieu.
+ Unable to connect to the Internet? Addieu works over Bluetooth!
That last feature of the Addieu iPhone app is particularly cool and it came in handy at SXSW 2011. AT&T rolled out multiple mobile cell towers (nicknamed COW) but with thousands of iPhone users in such a small area, getting mobile data connection could be a pain. With this app, you just flip on the Bluetooth and you can still exchange contact information.
I’m going to CTIA next week and will still be bringing a large stack of business cards but with Addieu and Hashable, I could see the day where I don’t need to. Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments.
