It looks like Canada beat the U.S. to getting the Nokia C7. Wind Mobile is now selling the Symbian^3 handset for $350 off-contract, and if you pick one up this weekend, they’ll throw a Nokia 5230, because they’re nice like that. As far as plans go, Wind Mobile has recently announced an awesome new Unstoppable Plan, which offers unlimited talk, text, and data for $45/month.The C7 also supports the new HD Voice feature Wind rolled out last month.
The Nokia C7 is not a bad handset on paper; it’s got an 8 megapixel camera capable of HD video recording, a 3.5-inch 640 x 360 display, 8 GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3G. The Symbian^3 software doesn’t introduce anything particularly groundbreaking over S60 5th. edition, but those familiar with the older OS might be able to spot some fine detail differences.
Wind Mobile isn’t quite owned by VimpelCom yet, but that’s the way things are going. Hopefully the Russians will handle Wind Mobile just as well as Orascom has, because if not, the only reasonable alternative left to Bell, Rogers, and Telus will be Mobilicity.
If you’re interested in picking one up, you can find the Nokia C7 here in their online store.
