Pay Anywhere launches audio jack card reader for the iPhone; Offers it for free!

Pay Anywhere is another company fighting in the mobile payment space. In January, they launched the Pay Anyway dock reader and now they’re out with the audio jack version a la Square. The device is small, lightweight and durable, and comes with a carrying case and lanyard.

However, they have a somewhat unique pitch, offering the audio jack reader free of charge to anyone who downloads their iPhone app, which is also available for free. In addition, there are no setup fees, no application fees, no monthly service fees and no monthly minimums required!

Pretty much any iOS-powered device will work, including the iPod Touch and iPad. All you have to do to get started with accepting payments while on the go is download the app, plug the Pay Anywhere into the audio jack and take it from there.

Pay Anywhere uses the “highest level of encryption,” ensuring fully secure transaction from end-to-end while the data is never stored on the reader.

Finally, the company promised to release a version of its mobile app for BlackBerry and Android users in the near future… Sounds cool, don’t you think?
