T-Mobile G2x could launch as soon as next week

There’s been rumors that the T-Mobile G2x (Optimus 2X) would debut on April 20, alongside the Sidekick 4G and G-Slate. While we can’t speak for the G-Slate, the latest date for the G2x is the 15th of this month.

If this holds true, you’ll be able to walk into a T-Mobile store next Friday and grab one of the hottest phones available. Sporting the NVIDIA Tegra 2, the G2x can tear through virtually anything you throw at it, without breaking a sweat. Also coming in with a 4-inch display, 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a 1.3-megapixel camera on front, the G2x should please many.

We reviewed the Optimus 2X not long ago and walked away very impressed, so we know that the G2x will be delivering the goods. LG has seriously stepped its game up with the Optimus 2X, 3D, and Optimus Pad, so it has a good chance of stealing quite a bit of market share from the other Android players. The G2x will be shortly followed by the G-Slate, also on T-Mobile, and AT&T will release the Thrill 4G (Optimus 3D) later this year as well. Good going, LG.

The possibility of grabbing the G2x next week would just put the cherry on top of the new Even More Plus plan T-Mobile will be launching on the 13th, giving you an awesome handset with a great plan to go with it. Even better, if you’re on the Even More Plus plan, you can drop a small deposit on the G2x and then pay for it every month on top of your bill, relieving you of having to pay the big bucks up front for the device.

Those of you still looking for the G-Slate will have to wait a bit longer, as the above just says “soon” for a launch date. It can’t be long now.
