Mobile applications are a booming market when we have smaller and not-that-know companies like London-based Project Zebra announcing they have received an undisclosed amount of money from Venista Ventures, a Cologne, Germany-based venture capital firm that concentrates on the mobile sector.
According to the company’s CEO and Founder Barry Scott, the investment will be used so that they have “the equipment, infrastructure and qualified staff to take Project Zebra’s software solutions to the next level.” Venista Ventures on its end decided to invest in Project Zebra based on its “strong performance and huge potential” in the location-based smartphone games arena.
Those unfamiliar should know that Project Zebra is the company behind the successful iPhone game foursqWAR, a location-based game in which players combat with virtual troops for buildings that exist in the actual world. The game is available for the iOS-powered devices and will also be released on additional platforms later this year.
Aside from the mentioned foursqWAR, the company also has some other titles in the AppStore, including Superpowers, 2011 Sports Diary and Irish Economy.
