ViewRanger just got better at least when it comes to covering the walking routes of Scotland. Thanks to the collaboration with top walkers’ website Walkhighlands, users will get to access nearly 1,300 Walkhighlands routes from ViewRanger’s downloadable trails database.
Every expert guided route can be browsed and downloaded to a smartphone with just a few taps. Moreover, some of the routes also come with audio clips, giving the correct pronunciation for place names.
Android and Symbian smartphone owners can get ViewRanger on 15-day free trial or from just 99 cents on Apple devices over the holiday period. Between now and May 2nd, all registered users can even download a Walkhighlands route for free, as part of a Spring free routes promotion.
Commenting on the news, Walkhighlands co-founder Paul Webster said: “Our routes offer walks for all tastes from challenging ascents up the Munros to walks through Caledonian pinewoods or hikes exploring Scotland’s spectacular coastline. ViewRanger is a superb and ground-breaking app, we’re delighted to be able to offer Walkhighlands routes through ViewRanger.”
