Bitstream has selected location-based mobile search expert xAD as its local search partner for the BOLT mobile browser. As a result, locally relevant searches from within BOLT will now be provided with xAD results, specific to the user’s location search terms.
As a user, you won’t have to do a thing to start getting the new enhanced local search results – if the search term contains something locally relevant (i.e. “San Francisco restaurant”), BOLT will automatically serve the xAD-powered search results.
At the moment, xAD results are only available for the users in the U.S. but the plan is to expand the capability to Germany, U.K. and France in the near term.
xAD has a network of over one million advertisers making it the second largest source of mobile local search traffic in the U.S. Thanks to xAD’s LocalAdXchange, the company’s network returns highly relevant local targeted results 80% of the time, which is more than double any other provider. xAD results also include reviews, offers, maps, directions and more…
