Although we’ve seen Sammy’s Galaxy S WiFi 4.0 and 5.0 at the Mobile World Congress, the Korean company made them officially official yesterday, almost three months after the big event in Barcelona, Spain.
As you probably know we’re talking about Android-powered media players which come with pretty much the same specs as the Galaxy S sans cellular radio. The WiFi 4.0 rocks a 4-inch screen, while the 5.0 comes with a 5-inch one, both being WVGA.
Even though users will be able to install quite a few apps from the Android Market, I’m not sure I fully understand the idea of having such a big media player. Then again, iPod Touch sales are rock solid and I guess Samsung’s idea is to provide users with another option. If that’s the case, they may be onto something…
As someone who doesn’t think about buying a dedicated media player (or a “way too small” tablet), I may not be the right person to comment on this. So what do you say? Would you grab a dedicated media player running Android? Comments form is all yours…
