Hearing Test for Android

In another “there’s an app for that” post, we talk about NowiHear.com’s Android application, which provides users with a quick hearing check adapted from the Better Hearing Institute’s (BHI) revision of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery’s “Five-minute Hearing Test”. The mentioned test was apparently validated as an effective predictor of hearing loss in a study including nearly 1,000 patients.

According to Greg Frazier, Ph.D., Au.D., the NowiHear app provides a “clinically validated and modern, interactive tool” by which to engage potential patients while also providing “necessary information to those who want to understand the best options in hearing health care.” He goes on to say that he has already recommended the application to many friends and family members as a “simple way to check their hearing and understand how to seek treatment if necessary.”

Finally, in addition to hearing loss test, NowiHear for Android also features Audiologist Locator and an audiology educational video. You can get it for free from the Android Market (link below).
