kooaba updates its Smart Ads to connect with Apple’s iAd

We haven’t talked a lot about kooaba in the past. We mentioned them when they teamed-up with metaio to add image recognition technology to augmented reality browser junaio. However this is not to say kooaba doesn’t have a mobile app of its own — quite the contrary, their Paperboy is available for iPhone and Android smartphone users, allowing them to recognize and act on print ads.

Now the company is making Smart Ads iSmarter by connecting printed advertising with Apple’s iAds. This in turn will redirect users from print to rich-media once they scan an ad in a magazine. You may think it’s kinda silly to go from an ad to another ad, but the target iAd (usually) comes with additional information along with other multimedia content.
