Google Talk video chat for Android now working over T-Mobile 3G and 4G networks

Google Talk has been the go-to chat client for plenty of folks – most of us have Google accounts, chat transcripts are saved and you can even video chat – and it’s great that it has been available on most mobile clients, in one form or another, for some time now. But what about video calling while we’re out and about on the street? As it turns out, Google Talk video chat will now work over T-Mobile’s 3G and 4G networks.

It’s great to see that this is finally happening, especially since the majority of T-Mobile’s worthwhile phones happen to be Android devices. For Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, which is on the Nexus S for T-Mobile, you can now enable video calling via Google Talk, which is great for mobile-to-mobile or mobile-to-computer video calls. Convenient!

Since T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network is admirably fast, video calling shouldn’t be too much of an issue–that is, it might not be as choppy and unreliable as we’d expect video calls to be over 3G networks in other circumstances.

See the video down below.
