TomTom unveiled a new version of its iPhone app, which now comes with the much-improved HD Traffic service. Available through in-app purchase for $19.99, this handy add-on will get you to your destination faster, helping you avoid delays along the way. Already subscribed to TomTom Traffic? No problem – you’ll get the HD Traffic update free of charge.

TomTom HD Traffic is touted as the “most accurate traffic solution,” reporting and capturing more actual traffic jams than ever before. Traffic information is updated every two minutes, which is as up to date as you can get. The service launch comes as a part of TomTom’s Traffic Manifesto, which is the company’s mission to reduce traffic congestion to everyone.

In addition, TomTom for iPhone 1.8 also comes with support for multi-stop routes, allowing users to add up to five stop-off points when they plan their journey.

Finally, the latest map data also comes included as part of the update.
