Vodafone is all about “controlling” the red color and in that sense it makes exclusive deals with handset makers to carry the red version of some devices. For instance, we’ve seen the carrier offering the red HTC Desire S and now Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo is taking the same route.
Yes that means if you want the red Neo, you can only get it from Vodafone. No other carrier will sell you one, though if you buy it used, you can easily switch networks.
Anyway, Sony Ericsson’s smartphone is available for free to anyone willing to commit on a two-year 26 GBP a month contract. Alternatively, those who want to pay less per month can pour out 99 GBP upfront with a 20.50 GBP a month plan.
As a reminder, the Xperia Neo comes with a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen, 8.1-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R sensor technology, HSPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show…
