Business magazine The Economist is going for the growing army of Android users. Their newly launched app may be free to download but it will require a “regular” subscription to the magazine. You will, however, be able to access editor’s highlights for free, giving you a weekly selection of must-read articles from each week’s edition of The Economist.
Of course, the paid version includes much more, including the ability to both read and listen to the articles. Best of all, each issue is downloaded completely on your smartphone, requiring no Internet connection afterwards which is great if you decide to read it while in a plane or some other place where there’s no signal around.
And if you just want to taste The Economist, you can buy a single issue right from the application (in-app purchase). Then and only then you may opt to subscribe and get the magazine regularly. It’s your choice…
