CNN has been super active in the mobile space, offering its app for many major platforms, including iOS, Android and Symbian. What’s more, they have special applications for modern tablets, whether they run iOS (iPad) or Android Honeycomb. All said we were not surprised when they announced hitting 10 million downloads. Here are the words from one of CNN’s blogs:
CNN confirms that its combined mobile downloads across the CNN Apps have reached 10 million globally, including the CNN apps for iPad and iPhone as well as Android tablets and phones. This – combined with more than 200 million page views to CNN’s mobile website in June – is evidence that consumers rely on CNN to get the latest news and information on their mobile devices wherever they are.
Not sure about that “evidence” part as we would have to see the figures from other major media companies for comparison. However, one thing is certain – CNN does take the mobile channel seriously and we praise them for that. 😉
