Emirates Airlines launches Destination Radio iOS app

As part of its marketing activities, Emirates and its agency ISM, launched a new mobile application for iPhone and iPod Touch users, allowing them to enjoy music from more than 97 countries around the world. The new Destination Radio app won’t store a single song on your iDevice, rather it will tune into local radio stations, streaming the music from your destination (presuming that’s how you’ll be using the app). That said, the Dubai-based international airline carrier pitches the application as a great way for discovering new music.

Once started, Emirates Destination Radio presents you with a clickable map and once the destination is selected, live streaming radio from that locale will play, along with the current time and weather from the area. Moreover, there’s the one-touch access to Emirates’ mobile website and phone number to easily find additional information on Emirates’ flights and services.

Finally, travelers who download Emirates’ app by October 11, 2011, have the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win two round-trip Economy Class tickets to any of Emirates’ 113 cities around the world.
