We’ve been intrigued with TabCo before due to its viral marketing (and pizza) and the company has just released a new promotional videos which give us our first glimpse of its tablet.
The TabCo tablet teaser video is titled “Lemmings” and it shows a bunch of similarly-dressed people using an iPad (or iPad-like device) and walking off a mountain. On the other side is the TabCo tablet and a wheel to help bridge the gap in the mountain to bring these users to the promised land of tablet computing. Or something like that.
We don’t get much about the device itself but we finally get a good look at it and it looks like, well, a tablet. It’s a touchscreen slate that can fit in your hands and it looks to have a 10-inch screen. The most interesting part of the TabCo tablet is supposed to be the “aha! OS” but we don’t get to see much, if any of this.
The Lemmings theme is cute but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before. Remember, the Motorola Xoom advertised at the Super Bowl about how using a different tablet can help you stand out from the crowd. The results so far? Motorola shipped about 450,000 Xooms last quarter and Apple shipped more than 9 million.
TabCo is planning to show off its tablet next week (Aug. 15) and we’ll be there to check it out. There are still some rumors that it’s a front for a larger company but all will be answered next week. Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
