We’ve already talked about the Orange Monte Carlo aka ZTE Skate in the past, and now it’s available for purchase. The good news is the price with the France Telecom-owned operator asking 149 GBP (about $243) for an unlocked device. That’s an awesome deal for a smartphone as powerful as Monte Carlo, which specs include an 800MHz processor, large 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, FM radio and so on; while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. Alternatively, interested users can able to grab the device on a contract starting at 20 GBP per month.
In a nutshell, Monte Carlo is one of those phones that will help propel Android to the mainstream consumer, and in that sense I’ve no doubts Orange will manage to move quite a few of them.
And before I let you go, we have a short video to share, demonstrating Orange/ZTE’s smartphone “in action.” Enjoy!
