Motorola XT531 may be heading to AT&T or at least such a phone — the one that can sing along carrier’s 3G network (850 / 1900 MHz) — has been spotted at the FCC. That, however, doesn’t mean AT&T will actually launch Moto’s baby as we’ve learned from the past, seeing quite a few devices with FCC’s seal of approval that were never introduced on the U.S. soil. Hopefully that won’t be the case with the XT531, which will be known as the Fire XT in Europe and Spice XT in Latin America.
As a reminder, the Motorola XT531 is a mid-end Android smartphone with a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera on the back, VGA front-facing camera, Wi-Fi connectivity support, Bluetooth, GPS, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. In other words, AT&T could easily offer it for next to nothing even on some affordable plan, as long one commits on a two-year contract.
