After the previous beta10 version, Total Commander for Android has reached the Release Candidate stage. The good news is that the annoying “beta” popup has been removed making for a much better experience. In addition, all plugins like FTP and LAN were also updated so if you had Total Commander beta with few of these installed, you should get them updated, too.
On the downside though, developer Christian Ghisler says that Total Commander may never hit the Android Market. I guess the reason is that it requires more permission than pretty much any other app, other file browsers included.
Still if you have a rooted device, this shouldn’t come as a problem. Hit this link to download the .apk file and try out Total Commander on your Android device. And if you want to get all the details what’s all changed under the hood, you can download the history log file from here.
