I remember when Verizon Wireless first announced the HTC Thunderbolt, touting it as its first LTE-enabled device. When it was launched, the Big Red carrier asked a whopping $250 for the Android-powered smartphone, only to slash the price below $200 few months afterwards. As the time went by, the price went further south, at one point hitting the “bellow $100” mark. And now it’s available for a single penny!
Amazon Wireless is offering such a deal for new Verizon customers only. Those upgrading or adding a line to a family account will still have to pour out $119.99. Moreover, if you’re upgrading and you’re a part of an existing family account, you’ll have to pay even more – $179.99. In other words, this is an awesome deal for new customers only, but that’s still something.
Although it doesn’t have a dual-core processor, the Thunderbolt is still a pretty darn solid smartphone, rocking a big 4.3-inch touchscreen, LTE connectivity along with EV-DO Rev. A (where LTE is not available), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and so on…
