Next Gangstar game taking a trip to Rio on iPhone, iPad, and Android this Fall

Gameloft’s Gangstar series, which takes much of its inspiration from Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series, will be receiving yet another follow-up this Fall.

The next Gangstar title is planned to be released on the iPhone, iPad, and Android. As of now, the only thing we know about the upcoming game is the release of the artwork above. The artwork states the new Gangstar “moves to Cidade Maravilhosa.” Doing a bit of googling has resulted in learning “Cidade Maravilhosa” means “Marvelous City,” which is the nickname for Rio de Janeiro. This is certainly a departure for the series as previous titles took place in cities in the US (Los Angeles and Miami). Seeing as how the Angry Birds have been doing so well in Rio, then why shouldn’t the Gangstar series take a trip down there as well.

No other details were given regarding the new Gangstar title, not even the title of the game. If it’s anything like the previous titles in the series, you can expect driving a number of different vehicles, a lot of combat, and a whole lot of swearing.
