Orange UK is preparing to launch two smartphones – Samsung Wave 578 and Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray.
The first of the two is a bada-based device that comes with NFC capabilities, allowing users to conduct “amazing Quick Tap contactless payments.” Additionally, the Wave 579 also rocks a 3.2-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 3.2-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing VGA camera, and a memory card slot. In a nutshell, it’s a mid-range device made for folks who dig touchscreens but don’t want to spend a small fortune on their phone purchase.
As for the Xperia Ray, it’s an Android smartphone with a 3.3-inch FWVGA display, 1GHz single-core processor, 8-megapixel cam with 720p HD video recording capability, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and of course a microSD card slot. It will be available in either black or white.
Needless to say both phones will be offered free of charged with plans starting at about 20 GBP per month. What’s more, interested folks will also be able to grab them on pay as you go…
