After adding Hangouts to its Android Google+ app, the search giant is introducing the same capability for the iOS users, allowing them to chat with their buddies while on the go. In addition, this release also packs several other enhancements, including:

  • Huddle is now called Messenger and allows users to share photos while in a chat session. In addition, this part of the application got some under the hood reliability improvements.
  • Ability to +1 on comments
  • Map view in profile for places you’ve lived
  • Improved +mention support
  • Ability to share a post with individuals
  • Improved public search for people

Finally, a number of bugs have been fixed and the application should run faster due to performance improvements…

And that’s about it. Google hopes you’ll dump Facebook and Twitter and use their service exclusively. Thus far they managed to get an impressive number of users, though they’re still far from Facebook’s numbers. Are you one of the folks using Google+?
