MetroPCS has just announced its latest device, the LG Esteem. The Esteem will be the newest 4G LTE-enabled smartphone added to the MetroPCS line-up that’ll pack the most recent Android OS, Gingerbread 2.3. This is sure to be one of the company’s best high-end devices on the roster.
Specs of the LTE LG Esteem will include:

- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- 1GHz Snapdragon processor
- 512MB RAM
- 8GB on-board storage
- 5MP rear camera (capable of 720p video recording)
- 1.3MP front-facing camera
- 1500mAh battery
- DLNA streaming
- Metro PCS’ CDMA/LTE network.
Customers can expect additional goodies like access to MetroSTUDIO and Rhapsody Unlimited Music, which recently updated both its iOS and Android apps. Discussing the phone’s impressive entertainment features, Tim O’Brien, vice president of marketing for LG Mobile in a release said:
“LG Esteem is the ideal device for entertainment savvy consumers looking for on-the-go content and the latest Android technology,” he added “together with the MetroPCS 4G LTE network, LG Esteem provides users with a wide variety of features not previously accessible to no-annual-contract mobile consumers and delivers a truly enhanced user experience.”
Metro’s offering the LG Esteem for $250 with no contract ($100 mail-in rebate pending). That price is available through January 1st and if you go ahead and activate the $50 4G data plan, you’ll get 90 days of Rhapsody access for free. Not bad at all.
