Android-powered Dell Streak Pro 101DL coming to Softbank in January 2012

Android-powered Dell Streak Pro 101DL coming to Softbank in January 2012

Not sure why Dell needs Japan’s Softbank to show us what they’re capable of accomplishing. Their newly unveiled Streak Pro 101DL is an awesome device by any stretch of imagination. Heck, it’s arguably the best phone unveiled to date (except that waterproof Sharp AQUOS PHONE 102SH).

Specs wise, it rocks a 4.3-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, which makes my Galaxy S II and its WVGA screen look like a few years old toy. Then there’s a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 processor, along with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, HSPA+ (14.4Mbps on the downlink) and Wi-Fi connectivity, and other “standard for a high-end smartphone” goodies like sensors, Bluetooth, GPS; while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show.

Want one? I know I do, but we’ll have to wait for January 2012 to be able to grab one. Actually, at that time Softbank will start to sell it, and we’ve no idea when (or if) the Streak Pro 101DL will be available in the western hemisphere. We do hope Dell will launch a comparable device soon to take advantage of the Christmas shopping season…
